POLYRIX — About

Our history

Polyrix was founded in 2005 by researchers from the Computer Vision and System Laboratory of Laval University, in Quebec City, Canada. Based on the knowledge gained in doing cutting edge research in 3D, our team identified a need for fast and simple 3D scanners that could provide inspection in a disruptive way.

Thankfully, others dreamt the same dream as our own and helped us achieve it. People at Pratt & Whitney Canada were amongst the first and we are grateful to them.

Testimonials

"The scanning technology you have provided to us absolutely delivers what you originally specified. It is truly an innovative technology and we are now able to protect our customers from nearly all geometric escapes.

We were looking for an intuitive, simple system which could be automated, and provide data quickly to confirm the complex cast geometries we deal with daily. A tall order, but you were able to provide exactly what we needed. The Polyscan XL scanner is simple to use and the data comparison and Live Inspection re-projection meets our cycle times, and provides an intuitive and definitive dimensional analysis.

It has been a pleasure working with your team as well, and the cooperation and support you provided as the system came into production is highly appreciated, being a somewhat rare commodity these days.

I look forward to working with you on other projects in the future."

— Peter J. Clark, Vice President, Sand Casting Technology, Magellan Areospace

"During a recent visit to your company, I have seen the very innovative nature of your 3D capture products for industrial inspection and 3D modeling. The technologies developed by your company are at the forefront of technological advances in the field of 3D capture, an area that is in full essort not only in the Province of Quebec and in Canada, but around the world. The growth potential of 3D-related technologies is very strong, both in industrial applications in the fields of entertainment, heritage preservation and the arts.

During my visit, I was able, with colleagues and students who were with me, to see the expertise of members of your team as well as their technical competence and their enthusiasm about the technologies they develop.

There is no doubt in my mind that your company has everything it needs to carve out a place in the world of 3D. Moreover, it would be of great interest to our laboratory to work with Polyrix if the opportunity arises.

I wish you and your team every success and growth to the extent of your ability. I would be also happy to provide references on Polyrix if it may be relevant to your business development plans."
